Kendrick Wins 5 Awards As Hip-Hop Shines At The Grammys
Hip-Hop ruled the Grammys last night, as Kendrick added 5 awards to his collection including Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song.
The 60th annual Grammy Awards was held yesterday in New York City. The music industry is brought together to recognize artists’ talent and hard work. Recently, Grammy Awards have seen hip-hop shine in numerous categories and performances, with last night being no different.
It all started off with Kendrick Lamar putting on a spectacular performance with U2 and Dave Chapelle. Performing his DAMN hit “XXX,” along with premiering an unreleased record, Kendrick set the stage on fire right away.
It continued with the awards and numerous other performances, where hip-hop ruled again. Kendrick added 5 awards to his already incredible Grammy collection. DAMN won Best Rap Album, “Loyalty” for best Rap/Sung performance, “Humble” for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.
SZA was a big name at the awards along with Kendrick. The TDE singer performed “Broken Clocks,” a hit from her 2017 album Ctrl. Lil Uzi Vert attended his first Grammy awards as well, along with Tyler The Creator attending because Flower Boy was nominated for Best Rap Album.
Hip Hop dominated the Grammys with nominees from Jay-Z, Cardi B, Kendrick, Tyler the Creator, Childish Gambino, Migos, SZA and more.
