Big Sean & Metro Boomin Announce Joint LP ‘Double or Nothing’
Big Sean & Metro Boomin confirm that before the end of the month, they will be releasing a surprise joint album titled ‘Double or Nothing’.
Each being one of hip-hop’s most highly demanded talents, any collaboration between the ill-lyricist Big Sean, and super-producer Metro Boomin, is a match made in heaven. The two recently sat down with Billboard for their big reveal, while giving an inside look of the quickly-approaching album.
Throughout the interview, Sean and Metro express that they are trying to tap into something that has become a rarity in today’s hip-hop scene, the collaborative rapper-producer album. To them, albums with one singular producer sound “more cohesive” and “better as a whole”. However, they have also made it clear that with this project they are approaching the sound and creative process in an experimental way.
The two not only create great music, but share a common-minded work ethic. “That’s one of the things me and Metro are like-minded on,” he states in his interview with Billboard, “We have that goal of wanting to succeed not just for ourselves, but for everybody who’s listening.” While in the studio for this project, Metro would create a beat in the studio, while Sean would sit by the mic and write and freestyle. It appears that creating heat is an effortless process when the two stars come together.
We first saw rumors arise after the duo took the internet by surprise when they dropped “Pull Up and Wreck” featuring 21 Savage seemingly out of nowhere. With Metro having production credits on Sean’s biggest album to date, it only makes sense that Sean’s next move would be to recruit the producer for a full-length LP.
It appears as though everyone’s prayers have been answered, and judging by every track the two have had together so far, Double or Nothing will surely be a fire project that will have us listening all the way into the new year.
