Grammy Nominations Announced, Many Young Artists Nominated
The Grammy Nominations have finally been revealed, and there are many new artists being nominated at such early points in their careers.
On Tuesday morning, the nominations for the upcoming 60th annual Grammy Awards in 2018 were finally revealed. From looking at it, there are definitely names we’ve seen before. Kendrick 7 times, JAY Z 8 times, Bruno Mars 6 times. Names who are almost guaranteed a good reception towards qualifying for a Grammy nomination each year they release an album.
However, there are names on this list that we don’t usually see as well. Logic twice, one of which for “Song Of The Year” with “1-800-273-8255.” Tyler, the Creator for “Best Rap Album,” with Flower Boy, along with Lil Uzi Vert being nominated for “Best New Artist.” SZA also five times, which is pretty amazing for an artist who just released only their debut album. And lastly, 6LACK was nominated for two Grammys as well, for “Best Urban Contemporary Album” with FREE 6LACK, and for “Best Rap/Sung Performance” with “PRBLMS.”
Kendrick is always going to get nominated for numerous awards. So is JAY Z, and so is Eminem when his upcoming album Revival is nominated next year. You’re always going to get that, so it’s awesome to see these new artists such as Lil Uzi and 6LACK getting nominated for awards. For having their hard-earned success early on their career be exposed and be rewarded for. And for some of these artists, it doesn’t seem this could be the end of their Grammy runs either.
