50 Cent Labels Jay-Z’s New Music As “Golf Course Music”

Since Jay-Z’s now platinum album “4:44” dropped last week, it has been highly praised by many figures in the industry, except 50 cent.

Kendrick Lamar tweeted, “4:44. WOW. MASTER TEACHER.” Adding to the praise was King James himself tweeting, “I hope y’all truly listening to what he’s saying. Giving the game and blueprint once again for damn near free! This is a testimony.4:44 #Hov.” Not sharing the same enthusiasm was 50 cent. On Wednesday, Fiddy posted a video on his Instagram criticizing Hov’s latest release adding that Jay-Z cannot be the best rapper at age 47.

In the now deleted video, the “In Da Club” rapper is heard saying, “I listened to Jay shit, that ‘4:44’,” said 50. “I thought the shit was aight. I liked the shit, but I’m gonna keep it 100 – the shit was a little … the shit was too smart. I felt like I was supposed to be wearing like glasses and shit and like a tie, a fucking sweater around my waist. It was like Ivy League shit.” Later adding, “I ain’t gon’ hold you up son, that shit was like golf course music.”

It’s safe to say that 50 wasn’t “Effen” with it. Although fans have labeled the review as a “diss”, many have also viewed it as a praise to Jay-Z’s mogul status. And, let’s not forget that last month, Jay gave 50 alongside other rappers a shoutout after becoming the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.
