J. Cole’s 4 Your Eyez Only Documentary

J Cole dives deep in with his 4 Your Eyez Only documentary, which premiered on HBO.

J. Cole released his fourth studio album 4 Your Eyez Only in the beginning of the year. Cole gave fans a special treat before the album dropped with his documentary Eyez. The album’s meaning depicted struggle, black lives, social ills, and gave a personal look into his life. With such an album, J. Cole has released a new documentary on HBO, J. Cole: 4 Your Eyez Only.

With Cole being an advocate and focal point to causing awareness for wrong doings in communities, he steps down and hands the mic over to people, to tell their real-life stories. He explores and highlights the themes he evoked in his fourth studio album.

Throughout the documentary he includes songs featured on the album for the viewers to connect to. Cole visits Jonesboro, Arkansas with his father, Ferguson, Missouri, Louisiana, Fayetteville, and Baton Rouge to display the issues occurring in those areas. The documentary speaks volumes and allows the audience to witness and understand Cole’s approach to the album. He also included a snippet to a new track, and disclosed surveillance footage from his home that inspired the making of “Neighbors.”
